Muhoozi
Kainerugaba lived in the middle of a combative scenario, where he
developed skills and performance greatly since the initiation of his
military career in 1994. Amidst war and violence which has been a part
of Uganda for many years, his courage proved that there was still hope
for the country. Hard efforts led Muhoozi Kainerugaba to excel in the military department and he was assigned to the Presidential Protection Unit as a Second Lieutenant in 2000.
The general took another step forward by enjoying the Uganda People's Defence Force in 1999 and being promoted in the following year 2001, as a Major in the UPDF. Muhoozi’s soldier spirit never settles down, because he knew that there was a lot more to accomplish and to do for the Ugandan people. Experience and commitment generated another promotion to become the commander in the Presidential Guard Brigade. The only expectation he had during his military journey was to make his life worth into making a difference in battlefield risking his life, facing tough enemies and bringing security.
Kainerugaba Muhoozi never allowed fears or insecurities to take over, because a mature soldier knows that a career and personality is built based on the care offered to the needful. That was another reason that he was ranked as a lieutenant colonel and appointed Commander of the Special Forces Group in the Uganda People's Defence Forces followed by a succession to the rank of Major General by President Museveni on 16 May 2016. From an excellent leader to a brilliant soldier, on 10 January 2017, the president moved Muhoozi to the post of Senior Presidential Adviser for Special Operations.
The media created speculation around a case involving the major and classified the recent promotion as the president playing favourites, which was later denied by Kainerugaba. He continually does his job with perspective and focus since he knows that at the end what really matters is not vain critics, but the one who makes a difference. If someday the need of taking over the presidency arises, Muhoozi will do so, as he prioritises the people above all else.
